I'm totally flexible so the routing doesn't have to be JFK-AUH-SYD ... what route would you recommend?

We want to end up in Australia and would love a chance to check out the F lounge at AUH ... other than that we're pretty flexible.

Any suggestions and is AA still the preferred redemption choice?
