That's actually correct, unfortunately. The "destination" is the open jaw, which actually kind of messes with the number of stops - you really only have one stop and one destination in this case.
Just fly HND-ITM in the middle of your itinerary. It gets you from Tokyo to Osaka and both of those airports are more conveniently located to their respective cities than NRT and KIX.
Ya, unfortunately that doesn't work as my parents (who I am booking for) are taking a tour in Japan that starts in Tokyo and ends in Osaka ... no opportunity to take a flight from NRT-ITM/KIX
