Was on a Air Canada Caribbean flight recently and the person leaving the washroom in front of me had defecated on the floor. I reported this to a flight attendant and she noted this was not something they took care of to clean it up, and she closed the toilet. This was a full flight so this cause some problems. She said this was a regular occurrence on flights to India and they just close the toilets.
I understand This clean up would not be something a flight attendant would want to do, but I don't think that's an acceptable solution.
After this I Doubt I will ever fly Air Canada to India as my gateway to Asia.
Of course nobody likes cleaning other people's .... (literally in this case), but I do think that in such extreme cases it is the job of the Flight Attendants to ensure a pleasant flight for all passengers and clean up the mess. Yes it's gross and yes the Flight Attendants will complain, but it's part of the job. It's not just handing out champagne to First passengers, doing routine safety demos and selling overpriced duty free scotch. The job also has a dirty side, including being there in case of emergency and also including such nasty cleaning tasks.
