Need Help cancelling BA Flight because of airline change
I have a BA flight LAS-LHR-MAD then return on Aug 25th. This ticket was booked Dec 2015. One June 14th 2016, I noticed a time change in my flight of 15 minutes (I understand the 2 hour rule and know I can now make a flight hange, but this does not qualify for a full refund), when I went to check it on BA I saw a note to me that my flight was now going to be operated by Ibera for the summer of 2016 (both ways). I would assume if they are putting me not only on different metal, but all together a different airline (partners or not) I would be able to fully cancel my ticket? I originally called, was told yes absolutely no problem. That gave me a week to mull over if I really wanted take the trip or now. I have now decided I don't want to go and when I called back I was told NO NO NO NO by a not so nice rep out of India of course.
Has anyone had experience with this? Is there anywhere on the DOTs rules regarding a change of plane and or airlines all together? I can find the schedule change rules on time, but nothing on airlines.
Getting a little frustrated of course.
Any help is appreciated.
