I buy low fee $3.99 to $5.99 Visa Gift cards usually $500 using my Delta AMEX . I dislike the fee but I have to remain vigilant to hit the MQD waiver with Delta. A number of places I shop at ( dry cleaners , Costco, local merchants) do not take AMEX so I keep a Visa gift card in my wallet at all times
