Thanks all for your replies. If only the AA let you part pay using avios that would be ideal but oh well lol.

It's good that none of the service is lost using AA ticket on BA metal.

I just booked flights this morning for a trip to NYC in December and decided just to book from Glasgow with BA - it worked out about £50-60 more
expensive than a BA ticket from INV but factoring in hassle and cost to position myself there and to have to get back to GLA after the flights it was a no brainer to just book from GLA.
I thought this but if it's £60 a head it soon adds up. The train to inverness on the dates I want is only £5 which is cheap lol. I would still return to Glasgow though on the way back although it seems to be that which breaks the BA fare rules and rockets the price up but AA seems to allow it Although looking at the fare rules they are identical for Both AA and BA.

Not sure what you mean by Avios rewards, the avios earning will depend on the marketing carrier so presumably AA. Lounge access is as per oneworld.

Seat selection will be as normal.

AA being cheaper may be a specific AA fare, or AA has lower fare bucket availability on the AA codeshare hence a cheaper price.
Sorry I meant earning Avios. I have checked the calculator and because I am gold I get the same avios on AA or BA which is good to know. The baggage I am still unsure about as on the AA site it says that it is their baggage policy but would make sense if it was BA metal then I would get my 2 x 32kg per person. I might call BA and double check.

An AA ticket isn't UUA-able.

I am unfortunately avios poor and only have 60k lol. They are O bucket fares anyway so as far as I jniw non upgradeable.

Correct they are O and N
