Same. I've misconnected I think only two times in the past five years or so on PHX connections out of over 50 there. I easily made all 14 last year through PHX. I have missed 4 of my last 12 connections at LAX, and I usually try to use it just for trips to and from LA - not for connections.

Still, going from the SF Bay Area to Vegas, just take one of the many non stops. There's no reason to triple (or worse) the time to get there by going through LAX or PHX.
