Fly on BA Metal with BA or AA. Sale anomolies.
Hi All,
Travelling to Miami in October from Glasgow and it will be in Y.
I am a BA Gold Card holder.
If I go GLA - LHR - MIA - LHR - GLA its about £440 a ticket but I can use the part pay avios to take £150 off that.
If I start in Inverness to avoid APD then with my routing INV - LHR - MIA - LHR - GLA it is nearly £700 although the exact same route on the same planes (BA) booked through AA is £323 a ticket! obv with no part pay but still cheap!
So my question what difference in experience will i see with flying on BA with an American ticket? I know I wont get the 32kg baggage but I will be allowed 3 bags and my wife 1 which is fine.
Avios rewards look same also. Will I be able to use the BA Lounges at LHR given that I am a gold card holder but on a AA ticket?
What about seat allocation will I have full ability to pick a exit seat through the BA MMB as normal when I get the PNR from AA?
Finally why is AA cheaper is it a break in the fare rules by changing the final destination that AA doesnt mind? I checked ITA and its the same fare rules so confused.
Answers on a postcard lol
