Completely agree.

The OP's question is analogous to asking whether one should connect at FRA or MAD when flying from LHR to CDG. The correct answer is to fly nonstop, even if it's not your preferred carrier.

OP: Fly nonstop on one of the nonstop choices unless this trip is essential to your elite status re-qualification.
