That said I'm wondering if amongst all the other enhancements - the amount of avios given for more minor shortcomings such as this has also been enhanced? I'd have sworn that a few more would have been given previously.
This seems rather tight to me, too, but there was what read like an official company line quoted in the "July enhancements" thread that I thought summed up where BA now seems to be.

So they run a CBA on every aspect - be that pretzels in Y or ex gratia compensation. They have calculated where they believe the trade off exists - and that's the end of it.
So, if they're saving £1k a week on pretzels down the back or handing out bonus miles, but have only lost £950 in profit, it's seen as a good outcome.
The race to the bottom continues - I just dread to think what it'll look like when we come out the other side of the economic slump...
