I somehow missed this before. Just confirming, part of the refurb is to install actual, functioning air conditioning in each room? Because that's the main reason I wouldn't stay there in the summer before - it was just access to the fan portion of the built-in heat system so it didn't do much of anything, not an actual A/C that can cool the room.
I had a discussion about this with them : as designed, the existing system is a whole-hotel system and they have to decide whether to put it in 'heat' or 'cool' mode. Until and unless it is in cool mode, then no-one gets cooling, just fan.
And even when it is in cool mode, it still doesn't cool the rooms effectively.
They did specifically confirm that the refurbishment introduces proper per-room air conditioning.
