Of course it's not unreasonable. It's not reasonable to assume that every kid will be a loud, obnoxious demon-child, and harbour a prejudice before getting on board. I find my rest is interrupted by superfluous cabin announcements, loud FAs, changing light levels and other peoples' conversations more frequently than by crying infants.
Some children do sit in J and do annoy others with their tantrums and poor social graces. Same as many fare-paying adults.
