Although I am very critical versus Air France, I would not be very nervous about the flight by itself, particularly as you fligh from US.

Usually the in-flight service is good, if not excellent.

As soon as you have todeal with the ground service, the story is different.

The other problem is CDG, but not on your first flight. You will arrive in CDG #2, which is very conveniently related to Downtown Paris if you make a stay there. You can go to the RER 'high speed underground) walking.
I heard a lot of horrible stories concerning luggages, but, as I never register any, am not able to comment. Just keep it mind that nomore than 3 per cent of the cases are problems... that is far toomuch, but should make you more comfortable.

The return flight could be more difficult. Hopefully, it will be also from CDG #2 which is good (But you wil still have to deal with ground service of Paris Airport AND Air France)
