It sounds like row 8 is pretty good assuming door 2L is used?
I'm OW Sapphire if it means anything. Would it even be worth moving to row 1-7 if I could get it?
Front rows are held for BA Gold (OW Emerald) initially.
They will eventually be released to Silvers (Sapphires) and this normally happens around midday, 3 days before you fly. Check the seatmap again then and you should see more availability open up.
For example if your flight was on a Tuesday, these would be released early afternoon on the previous Saturday.
