It was a million degrees here in Toronto today and we wanted to get to the airport and drop off our bags for the 11pm flight. Toronto traffic can be horrible and all we wanted to do was drop off our bags, go through security and eat or lounge it up.
We were told we couldn't drop bags after waiting for eternity in line for an earlier KLM AMS flight and AF flight to CDG. So were told to wait until 630pm. YYZ is a horrible airport for waiting before security. Anyone else had issues with this? I know that in AMS you can check in anytime.
I can fully appreciate why this was annoying. I had the same experience with Xiamen Airlines at their home base in Xiamen while taking a connecting flight, which required collecting luggage and rechecking it to get the boarding pass for the connecting flight. It is frustrating to not be able to check in until 2 hours before departure.
In September I am booked on the AF flight departing at 18:35 and I was hoping to check in early; i.e. 2pm. Would that be possible in your experience? If not, could baggage be stored somewhere while you go ahead and visit the lounge, and go through arivals once more to drop off the baggage?
