Yeah, I guess I am a "hard traveller". For lack of a better word, I am a 'digital nomad'. I feel that being budget conscious saves me from having to live the life of an employee. Freelancing for less money, but living all over the planet, keeps me happy. No mortgage, no wife, no boat, no money wasted. No stress, waking up with a smile every day.

I am accumulating these miles on the cheapest fares possible already. Those Cathay rides from Europe to SEA are insanely cheap. About 25% less than the nearest competitor. And I still do not experience any discomfort (As I would with Ryanair or Chinese airlines). I started my traveling days going more or less overland from Europe to India, so anything after that feels like luxury.

So yeah, getting the maximum out of those small fares makes me happy. When deducting the hardware I get from the points I just got from buying a ticket from a Scandinavian origin to a destination in SEA, I ended up with about 460 dollars cost for a return ticket. Getting something that decent for such a low price makes me quite pleased with myself.
