Overall the 53E seat is comfortable and have easy access to isles is a good feature.
I agree with most of your observations, wendySFO.

I like the double aisle access (although I have had another PAX use it as a passage between the aisles - I gave them a nasty look and lowered the foot stool. Although they looked like they might try the same trick on the return journey, they ended up going via the galley, as it should be.)

I haven't had an issue with galley noise (but then I use a noise cancelling headset or earplugs much of the time.) I also hadn't noticed the air vent, but I probably will now - thanks!

Like you, I have noticed that it is a bit more difficult to get service though - you're easily forgotten / not obvious.

The four to six extra inches on the right of the seat, that provide a bit of flat surface by the armrest and the hidden storage box below means it really is wider than any 777 CW seat (or any LD 747 seat, etc.) I didn't notice any sliding down when trying to sleep.

When I cannot get my favourite seats on the A380 upper deck, I go for 53E. It's not a fantastic seat, but it is good.
