Slightly pulling teeth, but all of CX's A333s have similar range and the RR Trent 700 engine. It is only the cabin interior that is different. Aka, any CX A333 in the fleet can technically do SYD.
Whereas the 773 vs 777-300ER have different performance specs. The plain 773 has different, lower thrust engines than the -300ER, nor does the 773 have the fuel capacity as the -300ER. Finally, the etops rating for the 773 RR engines is vastly lower than the -300ER GE engines. A loaded 773Z would be lucky to do YYZ-ANC-CTS-HKG. And even if the range is possible ANC-CTS, I'm not sure if the etops rating would permit that...you might even need to add another stop. Long story short, there is technically zero chance that plane gets subbed in!
To the OP and the many other folks who this routinely happens to....stop using Seat Guru for advice on which plane serves what route!
