Travelers in other forums have been able to select upper deck seats seemingly w/o status. They reported a separate tab on the seat selection page for upper deck seats should show up. As a general matter, EK only blocks exit row seats from selection. Perhaps your flight has been changed to a 3 class aircraft. EK701 is regularly a 3 class while EK701 seems to generally be a 2 class aircraft with limited exceptions. How far away is your flight?
