Just to avoid confusion, I never said I was against driving to MIA. It was just that if I do, I need to consider an additional rental car to make the drive down since that would be cheaper than paying a parking garage for 15 days of car storage.
As to location, I am over in Brevard County east of Orlando. Orlando is about 45 mins, FLL is about 3.5 hours.
