If your MacBook and iPad are relatively new and 'clean' then I find that on LHR-JFK you're unlikely to need the power if you're fully charged on boarding. The clubhouses have US and UK plug sockets throughout them to help.
Yeah, I just upgraded to the 2016 MacBook which has pretty good battery life. However I'll likely want to spend some time working on photos taken during the trip which is a little more taxing than office productivity stuff. I suspect that plus a couple of hours napping (9AM departure) will help to stretch it. I've only got a little over 90 min at JFK so no time to recharge between that and my flight to MCO.
