When traveling, I often have last minute changes, and while I can plan a trip to Europe pretty far in advance, I don't always know all my ultimate destinations, and I tend to book those closer to my departure time. This enables me to snag good long-haul seats and maybe save a couple of bucks...or a few thousand. And I would like to be able to book my ongoing flights with less than a 4-5 hour connection time. When I'm booking at least J on all segments, i don't know why the airline can't show some flexibility. They've always been able to link flights quickly before, so it is clearly not a clerical issue. And at this point, they made the change in policy with basically no notice. That's not right and I had no opportunity on this occasion to do this "their" way as my separate PNR tickets were in place well before June 1. Clearly some bean-counters in the OW or BA offices have figured out some perceived financial benefit, and have "enhanced" yet another convenient service away from passengers who pay J or F. What a surprise.
