How bad is it really?
OK...for the sake of this thread, please refrain from rants, screeds, name calling, etc.
I'm very curious...what are the rest of you experiencing when you travel, with respect to security checkpoints and their delays/hassels? Additional screening at gates, etc.
Personally...I travel just about everywhere, but I've not been overseas since last May. Homebase for me is Memphis...and typically I wait maybe 2 minutes at the security checkpoint, mostly the delay is due to people having to pull out laptops. TSA folks seem courteous for the most part, though I have noticed some inconsistencies (w/regard to what's allowed and what isn't).
I've traveled several times during this recent "code orange" alert, and really haven't noticed anything different at the security checkpoints, just the random vehicle searches and the closing of parking spaces close to the terminal.
My experiences at other airports are identical, including DCA (in and out over Christmas...I was expecting to see things really cranked up there but didn't).
I see such vehement feelings out of some folks, I guess I'm wondering what others are seeing at "their" airports.
