The 744 retirement schedule was changed completely when UA decided to retire the entire fleet by end of 2018. N179UA isn't scheduled to be retired until Oct 2018.
The next to exit the fleet is N177UA in Sept 2016. Then N182UA in Jan 2017. After that there are no retirements scheduled until Sept 2017.
