I can attest to the TSA's occasionally rummaging through wallets. They have done it to me, although now I prevent it by putting my wallet in a carry-on bag.

One time, I asked why they insisted on examining every card in my wallet, along with the cash. The TSA blow-hard asked, belligerently, "Have you ever seen a credit-card knife?" Well, no, I have not, so I suppose they are making sure that none of my credit cards is a disguised knife? What a stupid waste of time! Even if I am carrying one of these dreaded "credit-card knives," what can I do with it? Hijack an airplane? I think not! (Imagine a hijacker holding up his dreaded credit-card knife and terrorizing passengers with it: "I have a dreaded credit-card knife, and I'm not afraid to use it!" )

As far as looking at the cash, that one was never explained to me. I think they just want to see how wealthy their victimes are. The wealthier the victim, the happier the TSA thugs are! It's all in the nature of class warfare, of course!

Come on Bruce, don't drift downward with the namecalling stuff. Your posts are usually much more highbrow than that.
