I'm new to the forum so pardon me if this was mentioned before, but I did a search and couldn't find any previous recent posts about this but...

Costco typically sells gift cards at a 20% discount, i.e. PF Changs, Spa Finder, Movie tickets, etc. Has anyone tried buying say $1000 worth of these every month and off loading them either for a slim margin or even at cost, just to manufacture enough spend to get the churning sign up bonus rewards.

I can think of risks such as delays in unloading the cards, issues with buyers who will try to scam you, i.e. claim the cards were empty or used, costs of selling. But if you protect yourself the best you can and keep good records, you could churn about 10-20k a year in Manufactured spend and get tons of sign up bonuses along the way and even a slim profit. Albiet, it would be time consuming to post, sell, and mail out 10-20 cards a month.

What say you?
