What class was your booking (business perhaps)?
Very rare to receive any compensation for minor delay in the mainland, as delays are almost expected. I now check my flight status hourly on the day of departure and keep MPC on speed dial.

I find the most annoying part is to lose my fav seat when getting bumped to another flight.
