Have been using GE for years but recently added my 1 year old. Of course no finger prints in the system. We used GE with her for the first time today. Cleared CBP today in Toronto and the officer looked at us incredibly annoyed that we were bringing our daughter through with an X. He told us that infants weren't allowed to use the kiosk and should complete a blue customs declaration. The officers that signed us up told us the exact opposite (use our finger prints and get the x). Given the ridiculous inability of CBP to not figure out a way to properly handle infants, getting an X seems to make the most sense.
Since this was the first time with our daughter I don't know if this is typical and figured I'd check. Has anyone had this happen before? Is it common? Do we actually need to fill out a declaration form just for her? Seems to defeat the whole purpose!
Never had that happen. I would complain to have him retrained.
