I couldn't really pick up on the 1st and last audio track but the middle was more comprehensible. Probably more due to my laptop's speakers and I have hard enough time listening to unfamiliar, sung lyrics in English as it is. Picardy I presume may have a touch of Dutch/Flemish hence the guttural accent?

Most of my early French teachers were British (or specifically English), except one who may have been Lebanese, and the last one in Canada may either have been French or Quebecois (long time ago).

I was reading how, supposedly, some version of French (Īle de France?) became the standard in Quebec very early in the province's history (over 400 years now) and the reason why (the early immigrants spoke a smattering of dialects where French may have been a 2nd or 3rd language).
