FYI, Federal Agents don't clean the restrooms, and if you "the public" would be cleaner then the janitors wouldn't have such a mess....
["Second time thru the WTMD"] Only one chance now... divest as we ask including shoes and you won't have to worry about alarming...
["If there's nothing else to do for long periods of time other than harass or idle, then there's at least one employee too many"] Can't help down time between flights and passengers coming thru the checkpoint... Have to keep staff for the next surge of passengers to come thur...

Otherwise, I would prefer that they waited for something constructive to do like wand people who failed the WTMD for the second time or help with line organization, or got some training, or whatever.
Harassing passengers is not something I want them doing at any time; I'd rather my tax/fee dollars were wasted on idle workers than on harassing workers.
