Not in my experience Needstofly, most of my colleagues would find such a cancellation bizarre. If they checked it with the corp travel agent they would find out the truth for sure, but it's just so nonsensical to regular people they wouldn't ask the question.
I don't think we should be accusing new posters of lying, it makes us all look mean and stupid and causes great distress in situations such as Joe Kerr's.
