I just don't like authority figures -- particularly ones with little claim to actual authority. After all, how important is an airport screener in the grand scheme of things? I don't like traffic cops, either!

But, seriously, I begin by treating people the way I like to be treated. Only when people disrespect me do I respond in kind. And, as a former Federal bureaucrat myself, I DO know how to take these people on without losing my cool.

Most of my interactions with screeners are entirely uneventful, however. I do my best to get past them with minimum interaction, and they don't seem to mind that at all!
