TacomaRain - I agree completely. And it's just another reason why a brand new federal agency was such an incredibly stupid idea.

Has anyone here ever been to a properly staffed post office? Every time I'm there (all too often at 4:45 pm) I see a bunch of counter positions vacant and 25-100 people waiting in line. Does the USPS have centralized scheduling? You would think so after visiting the post office.

Property staffed post office? Ha.. Mail actually making 2-3 days consistently on a regular basis? Ha.. Local mail making it the following day on a regular bais? Ha..

It's rare you'll see me set foot into a post office because of this. If I have something to send, it's typically important, and it goes via UPS or FedEx. I've even been known to use UPS Red for local delivery of important papers instead of the USPS.

As far as bills and things that many people would normally send by mail, I make my payments online (and even get invoiced online by some companies / financial institutions).

Problem solved! No USPS, no problems.

Only thing the USPS has mastered is delivering junk mail timely, and on a regular basis.

Best,
