Watching AC 784 SFO-YYZ (unfortunately not on it ) and they called zone 1, waited 10 seconds, then called zone 2.

I'm sure they processed all 14 J passengers in 10 seconds. Plus the SEs in Y (of which I know there was at least 1).

That was over 5 minutes ago, and they haven't called preboarding yet.
