Air China cancelled my flight out of RGN on Jun 24, and rescheduled it 48hrs later. I'm only allowed to be in the country for 24hrs (transit visa) and they won't put me on another flight that day to get to my connection in PEK to ERW (also Air China).
They've offered fares 2 days later or 2 days earlier, with no promise of accommodations. 48hs+ of sleeping on airport floors. Regardless I physically cannot be in the country of Myanmar during those times.
I've offered to be re-routed out of BKK since it's a busier airport and they have many flights to PEK per day, but have been denied as well.

They want to refund me the partial fare ($300) which is so low I can't book a ticket home. Travel agency StudentUniverse has been trying to negotiate with Air China but has been stonewalled, they are offering no help either. I've been working this problem for 20 days with no solutions.

So effectively I am stranded in Thailand with no way home, and a return ticket is $800+/person

I booked these round trip tickets for 2 travelers on the 23rd of Dec, 2015. So plans have been set for over 6 months.

What recourse do I have. Legal action against StudentUniverse? Obviously nothing can be done against China... do I contact the consulate? I'm lost, and will be stranded in Thailand if Air China or StudentUniverse doesn't get me a ticket... Please help....
