No I did not, I am not exactly sure why I did not think to try Wi-Fi Calling, but once I was unable to register on any network at the airport and then again at my Brother In-Laws place, I defaulted to using his landline with his blessing.
He was impressed with the level of Customer Service from T-Mobile USA as T-Mobile DE (his Mobile Provider) would not have done that he does not think and they are in theory part of the same company. He refers to T-Mobile DE as "Terrible Mobile" and I have yet to have the same feeling about T-Mobile USA.
