I have done one overnight in PTY, and one quick turn into PTY and back, spending the night in MIA.

I definitely recommend staying two consistent nights in MIA, and leaving your luggage in the hotel room.

Easy Peasy. Earn your miles and status, and return to PTY when the rains stop and you can stay for 3 night or more.
