Change is grayed out in MMB for certain fares such as industry fares and consolidator fares, for a retail flex first it should be available. I've never seen this fail, in dozens of bookings. There is a secret F concierge phone line, only available for retail full F fares sold by QF, who can do almost anything, you can contact your ticket seller to get that sorted.
