Wife and I are going to London next week. This is our first European trip (she went as small child) and our other travel outside US has been on cruise ships. When on ship, we simply lock our passport in the safe in the cabin.
What is the best thing to do while in London? We are staying at the Hilton Metropole so I am assuming all should be safe. Do we ask front desk to keep passports in the hotel safe? Do we keep in the room? Do we carry at all times? If carry, what is best way to carry it?
Thanks!</font>
I guess that owing to my InterRail/Eurail-ing days, I am almost always carrying my passport around my neck in a pouch underneath my shirt.
That way I know where it is at all times and can produce it if necessary. I realize that Britain tends to use English, but not everyone will recognize my state driver's license as ID; this is even true within the USA!
