No one mentioned it but if you need to get to Toronto from LGA consider if AC will give a refund and then take the Maple Leaf on Amtrak which is a decent but slow ride. If you don't mind a bus, Megabus and Greyhound do the NY-Toronto run at a good pace with reasonable frequency.
