My flight got cancelled last month YVR - YYZ due to mechanical delay and crew timed out. It was 11pm PST and Gate Agents says they can't do anything on their end.

I tried phoning agents multiple times and I had the same response. "We can't do anything on our end." I also got the response to wait at 3/4 am so a higher person can deal with rebooking."
"Airport staff didn't offload you from the flight, so we can't touch the booking."

Here comes 330am, Agent says, "I need Airport supervisor to access your reservation."
I was on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Mind you, that waiting time from 11pm to 5am to get it resolve is dreadful. I feel helpless, but I have connecting flight and I have to get on the earliest flight possible.

They didn't even offer Hotel or Food Voucher as there are no available hotels and the airport restaurants are closed anyway.

I am not a happy camper. I can totally relate.
