EDITED TO ADD: I just called in to Platinum Card Services and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor did say that this was an issue that Amex is facing with all Mercedes Benz Platinum cards. Amex thought they would have the issue resolved sooner but they just received a memo last night that it was taking more time than expected. At this point the supervisor could not provide any update as to when I could expect to receive my card.
I called in today and the lady kept saying "we'll send it as soon as possible!" When I pushed for
when that would be, it was revealed that she actually had no idea. I was offered no compensation when asked.
$475 AF/52 weeks = $9.13 per week waiting on this card.
