To your question about the Hilton, yes, it is absolutely something you can walk to. Follow the signs to the Link light rail station, use the skybridge to cross Highway 99/International Blvd. and then go down the elevator. The Hilton will be right there. It's easy to do and I've done it several times in reverse.
