Loud music was blasting last night and needed to be changed to a different room "just for sleeping." Was told it is a party at the hotel next door. Can hear every door slam, and despite my preferences online, I'm on a low floor right next to the elevator. Only resort ive been to where no one explains the property and the activities/map. Room itself is bare, without even an armchair. Shower stall door doesnt close. Breakfast buffet was overcrowded and inattentive with not impressive food items. Came here after spending 2 nights at the Melia which was half the price, without status, for an oceanfront room, and with more food options.
The base upgrade is not that great, definitely worth the $48 a night to get the the room with a view and hot tub. Also, January is peak season in PVR so free upgrades are hard to come by. Also, recommend going to Vallarta Adventures and doing the Las Caletas trip. We did the hidden beach, rythm of the night and Las Caletas. Hidden beach is over crowded but the other two excursions were great.
