Strange one in EWR. Last December, I was flagged to have my bags sent through the CTX machine. When it didn't clear, the TSA people (yes, TSA was already there) told me to walk on over, so that I can watch them manually inspect my bags, as well as instruct them on how to open/close my bags.

I am 100% for pax non-touching of their bags after handing it off to TSA. You never know what a pax can do, even with the most meticulous TSA screener.

Wish it's like that everywhere.
