Exactly; "booked on" is ambiguous and should be avoided. And it is very important to understand that "purchased from" is completely irrelevant to the rules for earning miles (either kind) or EQD.
If I go to AA.com and purchase a ticket, for, say, "BA112", the "BA" earning rules apply.
If I go to BA.com and purchase a ticket, for, say, "AA6133", the "AA" earning rules apply; even though "AA6133" is actually operated by BA.
