As I live in South Florida and visit Key West an average of 5 times a year, if you were to start charging tolls to enter the city, additional parking fees or taxes that the hotels would have to charge, and other charges, it would make me reconsider where to spend my long weekends. We see this in Miami with the extravagant prices the hotels charge to park on South Beach and Downtown, the increase in tolls from the airports, higher gas prices in the tourist areas of South Florida, etc..

The cities of Miami Beach and Miami have instituted a free trolley system to supplement Miami-Dade transit's routes. Ridership is increasing as people get information from the hotels after arriving, but they pay to have their car parked there for no reason.
South Beach is VERY predatory towards parking . When I was there I was very sure where I parked on the street (near the Botanical garden)was okay.
