Not quite for me. I am lucky that I only missed connection once. It was MCO-MIA-SFO many (7-8) years ago. The MCO flight was delayed for three hours. Many on that flight were probably connecting passengers as that was a rather short flight. They did nothing in MCO, but to ask us to go to the AA counter in MIA to work on the connections. We already missed the last flight out of MIA that night when we arrived there. I was lucky to be a non-AA OWE so we proceeded to the Admirals Club for help.

Lounge agents can usually great help, I made changes at lounge when my flights were delayed, but OP may not be able to get to a HKG CX lounge unless he has a onward BP. I am not sure if the Arrival can help.
