Fee-Free Same Day Flight Change - What are the Details?

I paid a higher fare from OSL to LHR to allow a same-day, no cost flight change. I think it's a V fare.

Questions:

- Can the change be made 24 hours ahead of the flight, rather than the same calendar day?

- Does the V fare bucket have to be available on the desired flight?
