If you want connecting to maximize earn, BOS might have more flight options. Just be aware, BOS has no TSA pre-check at Alaska Airlines gates.
There is PreCheck lite ("Expedited", WTMD, take out laptop & liquids, leave jacket & shoes on) and if I recall correctly, an elite lane to the ID checker. Not that it matters because once pass the ID checker it was one line to the X-ray. On my visit, they (TSA) were doing a good job of regularly calling for pax on the next departing flight to move to the front of the lines.
